ASP Dungeon Generator

A small game employing an Answer Set Programming based procedural dungeon generator, created for a Games Software Engineering disseration.

The disseration focused on the reproduction of unlocalised semantic structures, such as the small locks and keys found in Zelda dungeons.

An ASP program was developed to generate a graph which represents the logical structure of the dungeon and several algorithms translate that graph into a playable space. Clingo was the chosen ASP solver.

The dungeon is made up of prefabricated rooms and not much time was given to developing content in this form; this means that room variety is a limited - you will see some rooms repeatedly, with small modifications to their structure.

The game features skeleton enemies, locks and keys, a dungeon item + puzzles requiring it, health upgrades, and a dungeon boss.
